The war in Gaza has already claimed tens of thousands of victims. In September 2025, an independent United Nations commission of inquiry concluded that Israel is committing genocide in Gaza. Despite the declared ceasefire, the suffering of the Palestinian people is still not over. The repercussions of the war are also being felt in Brussels.
GC De Maalbeek is not looking away and is organising an evening entirely dedicated to Palestine: with a collage workshop, dinner, lecture, and film with discussion. An evening that is slightly more expensive than our usual events, because all proceeds go to the HOPE Foundation.
For more than 32 years, HOPE has been supporting artists in Gaza who develop projects for children. Despite the genocide, the demand for art projects in Gaza remains high. Giving children the opportunity to laugh, dance, play and sing is of great value, as is being able to express your feelings and stories through painting, writing or photography.
Palettes of Palestine is about highlighting personal stories, art and the culture of Palestine. It is an invitation to search for what connects us. We share the same dreams, feelings and fears. We love to dance, play and celebrate. We fall in love and experience heartbreak. To commemorate this, Palettes of Palestine organises workshops such as collage workshops, where children and adults are invited to create a new world based on photographs taken by photographers in Gaza. Both children and adults are welcome to join!
You can join the Palettes for Palestine and lecture for free without registration. If you wish to eat dinner with us or watch the movie The Jacket, you do need to register seperately.
